New Single 21.10.2022: 'Look Through The Keyhole'
New Single: 'Torri'
Worldcub release new single, ‘Torri’, the immediately catchy, kraut-rock summer jaunt, infused with playful instrumentals and rich, infectious Cymru vocal harmonies.
Worldcub release their new single ‘Torri’ on the 29th of July and the band have also just announced the title of their forthcoming album. ‘Back to the Beginning’, an album consisting of 11 tracks, was waiting for a release date in 2020 but had its release delayed, but the good news is that Worldcub have since recorded a supplement EP titled ‘BTTB Cyfres 1 / Series 1’.
Working under the same concept as the album title, the band went back to their beginnings and re-worked tracks from their debut EP ‘PartDepart’, the aim was to re-imagine the tracks in a new light whilst showcasing the band’s journey to their current sound.
Their new single, ‘Torri’, is lifted from this EP.

Worldcub are a group from North Wales founded by brothers Cynyr (guitar & vocals) and Dion Hamer (drums & vocals), they began their musical journey under the name CaStLeS, taking influence from 70s/80s Paul McCartney and DIY ‘Fantastic Man’, William Onyeabor. They produce material from their home studio on the hills of Eryri, splicing together elements of surf guitar music, kraut-rock grooves and hypnotic psych tinged Cymru vocal harmonies.
Their self-released, site-specific themed debut album Fforesteering gained coverage on major platforms such as The Guardian and UNCUT Magazine, with air time on BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio Cymru & Wales. The band also earned their debut performance slot on the BBC Introducing stage at Reading & Leeds Festival, as well as other notable festivals such as Liverpool Sound City, Liverpool Psych Fest and more recently, BreakOut West in Canada and main support to Public Service Broadcasting at FOCUS Wales Festival.
The band emerge again this year with the release of their long awaited album, 'Back to the Beginning' along with Calvin Thomas, who returns on Bass and new member, Jasmine Roberts, who joins on guitar.

Band Of The Week - GIGWISE
" Although it's still only early days in the band's fledgling career, their potential is enormous. "
DROWNED IN SOUND
" ...the end product never ceases to enchant and surprise – which is all you can ask, really. It is simultaneously gentle and powerful."
'New Band Of The Week' - THE GUARDIAN
"‘Foresteering’ is already a firm contender for single of the year, it is a piece of pop genius."
A MUSICAL PRIORITY
"Welsh psych rockers appeared at 2pm - and blew away all expectations."
BBC Introducing in West Yorkshire, Leeds Festival
"'PartDepart', a song of hypnotic layers, beautiful
sounds and a real sense of space that is sadly lacking in so much modern music."
LISTEN WITH MONGER
"Welsh troupe try out acid-damaged psych on their lo-fi debut"
UNCUT Magazine, April 2017
"Three musicians, one static caravan and a 16-track portastudio. Mix
together in the Snowdonian hills and stand back"
SHINDIG! Magazine, Issue 67
"They embrace influences from Super Fury Animals, Django Django and the
Beach Boys to name but a few. In doing so, they create an engrossing
swirling infusion of psychedelic rock, blues and mildly dancey
grooves. Title track ‘PartDepart’, with its bubbling hypnotic layers,
beautiful sounds, synth loops, enticing guitar riffs and
seductive rhythmic groove, is essentially their raison d’etre"
